A book launch party has been set for Thursday, July 26, at the Bemus Point Library. REUNION AT MAPLE SPRINGS was written by Bob Terreberry who currently resides in that lovely hamlet on the eastern side of Lake Chautauqua. The work is a quick-paced cozy mystery which is centered in Maple Springs and the surrounding area. It is the second book in the Colin O’Brien Maple Springs Mystery Series.
“I had a lot of fun introducing Colin O’Brien and his friends to readers in MURDER AT MAPLE SPRINGS and I had always intended this first book to be a part of a series. This NEW adventure set in Maple Springs is very different but, as the title says, we can all enjoy a reunion lakeside with old literary friends,” said Terreberry.
Terreberry has lived in the area since 1970 having taught school, has been an active part of the local theatre scene and has served on a variety of community boards and councils. Terreberry and his wife, Irene, are the proud parents of three children and the delighted grandparents of four.
Joining with the library and Terreberry to launch this book is Carrie Wolfgang the proprietor of Novel Destination – Used Book Emporium. Ms. Wolfgang is the evening’s sponsor. “Bob and Irene and I have been friends for many years. In fact In fact, I baby-sat for their children as a teenager. They returned the favor by keeping a quiet eye on my parents when we kids could not check in on them. I am pleased to have encouraged Bob’s writing and am happy to be able to help him with this piece of the publishing process,” said Ms. Wolfgang.
The book is published by No Frills Buffalo, a publishing company that closely guides authors keeping them highly involved in all aspects of getting their work into print and into the hands of readers. NFB also prints, promotes and distributes their author’s work.
Local graphic artist Kathy Cherry has also added to the local color of the novel with a cover illustration and a map of the area that she has created to help the reader to better cuddle up with the novel and the charming milieu of Maple Springs.
At the launch on July 26, Terreberry will be there to discuss what he calls “his ongoing adventure in writing.” There will be books available for purchase which Bob will be glad to sign. The event will take place from 6:30 until 8:00 with a brief discussion beginning at 6:45. Light refreshments will be served. In keeping with the reunion theme, Novel Destination Used Book Emporium will provide some “white elephant” gift bags for lucky winners. Good-natured laughs will be a part of the evening too!
