Arts Services Initiative Curates Group Exhibition Featuring 27 Artists at the Main Street Gallery in Buffalo: Exhibition Event Supports Professional & Career Goals of WNY Artists

“Merging Mediums” will showcase the work of 27 artists ranging in style and medium including painting, sculpture, interactive art, music, poetry, and dance. The exhibition will feature a collective of Western New York artists who participated in the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) conference hosted by Arts Services Initiative of WNY (ASI) in October 2016.

With the help of the staff at ASI, this collective artists is now reuniting to bring a group exhibition to Buffalo, NY. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, March 2, 2018, 6-9 PM at the Main Street Gallery located at 515 Main Street, Buffalo, NY where attendees will enjoy a plethora of art, music, and other surprise performances. Admission to the reception is free.

Participating artists include:

Kathie Aspaas, Daniel Butler, Caitlin Cass, Colleen Darby, Sara Dinatale, Audrey Kay Dowling, Stephanie Dubin, Kaitlin Frisicaro, Keith Harrington, Allan Hebeler, Ani Hoover, Ashley Johnson, Joyce Kessel, Alison Kurek, Marissa Lehner, Ricardo Letelier Brecht, Nicholas Miller, Penelope Minner, Brenda Molloy, Anthony Phillips, Helen Ruggieri, Jeannine Swallow, Jessica Tomaino, Edreys Wajed, Kimberly Weikert, Andrea Wenglowskyj, Janna Willoughby-Lohr.

The initial 2016 conference was a multi-day professional development opportunity, titled “Artist as Entrepreneur Boot Camp”, which delved into the principles of sustainability in the arts. Participating artists learned how to extend their artistic careers and retained fundamental skill-sets such as budgeting, marketing, and grant writing. Since this weekend long workshop series, the group maintained contact and continued to work together to achieve their professional goals, including this first-time collective exhibition.
