Arundel Cellars & Brewing Co. will continue its summer event series throughout August. All of the events will be held at 11727 E. Main Road (Rt. 20), in North East, Pa.
The first weekend of August kicks off with three days of summer fun.
Arundel’s first TGIF August summer concert is scheduled for Friday, August 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. Lucky Dog promises a wide variety of songs from classic rock, 80’s and 90’s, up to today’s hits. While the band’s name may be somewhat unknown, most of the talented musicians who comprise it have previously appeared at Arundel in different bands. Look for Kayti Stadler (SASS Acoustics), Tom O’Camb (Erie Insurance Above All in Volume), and Mark Beery, Ron Sutton, Jack Belczyk and Bruce Bliley (all of Key West Express).
Then, on Saturday, August 5, Arundel will host its fourth annual Dog Days of Summer dog-friendly outdoor event held from 12 to 3 p.m. This event will be held in partnership with Grey-Save of Northwestern, Pa. and Northwestern Pennsylvania K9 Search and Rescue. Acoustic singer/guitarist Michael Gerholdt will provide the musical entertainment. Bring your well-behaved, leashed dog for a walk in the vineyard, the opportunity to sit for a pet photo, and more. Lawn chairs are welcome; however, no alcohol or people food is permitted on the premises other than that sold at Arundel.
August Sunday afternoon indoor concerts begin the next day, August 6, when the Chillbilly’s take the stage for an encore performance from 1 to 4 p.m. The Chillbilly’s are an upbeat trio from Western New York comprised of local seasoned musicians Tiffany McClory (lead vocals/acoustic guitar), Bob Pfeiffer (electric guitar/vocals) and Stephanie Stanford (percussion). The trio sings a mix of soft rock, country, oldies and songs of today.
The second weekend of August also promises three days of musical entertainment.
Arundel’s TGIF evening concert features the ever-popular Sam Hyman and Friends on Friday, August 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. Sam’s unique guitar style, soulful voice and interpretations of timeless classics guarantee an enjoyable, musical evening. Come, relax, and enjoy a spectacular sunset over Lake Erie.
On Saturday, August 12, Sean Patrick McGraw will delight country music fans with a special indoor performance from 1 to 4 p.m. McGraw is a nationally-known country singer from Dunkirk, New York.
Then, Matt Upperman (Colonel Mustard) and Josh Larsen of Matt & Josh will debut on the Arundel stage the following day, Sunday, August 13, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The third weekend of August features The Vendetta’s outdoors on Friday evening, August 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Mike & Marie Acoustics indoors on Sunday, August 20, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Vendetta’s — made up of Erich Semelka (drum, percussion), Rayna Allanigue (saxophone, percussion, vocals), Scott Campbell (lead guitar, vocals), Russ Straub (rhythm guitar), Stephanie Hand (lead vocals) and Graham Iam (bass guitar, vocals) – promise an evening of rock ‘n roll with a little bit of soul.
Harborcreek natives Mike and Marie Miller will entertain the Sunday afternoon crowd with a variety of soft rock, folk, pop and classic country. They play songs from artists such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, James Taylor, The Beatles, Dixie Checks and Alabama.
The last week of August includes Abbey Road outdoors on Friday evening, August 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Rankin & Schell indoors on Sunday, August 27 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Abbey Road, a well-known local Beatles tribute band consists of five musicians: Bob Seaman (bass, vocals), John Puzar (guitar/vocals), Bob Walkow (lead guitar, keyboard, vocals) Tim Driscoll (guitar) and Tom Laskowski (vocals and rhythm guitar).
Rankin & Schell is an acoustic duo (guitar & bass) from Erie featuring Glenn Rankin and Chip Schell. They play classic rock by artists such as James Taylor, Jim Croce, Bob Seger, Beatles, America, Simon & Garfunkel and the Doobie Brothers,
Pints and pitchers of craft beer, glasses of premium wine, soft drinks and food will be available for purchase at every family-friendly event. Tents will be provided at Friday evening concerts; however, non-Arundel food and beverages are not permitted on site. Please bring a chair.
