With spring quickly approaching, wild gobblers are beginning to strut.

3:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public with an option to purchase a fish and chips lunch for $10.

The seminar will cover wild turkey biology, behavior, and hunting techniques. Tom Bergstue of Lynn Legacy Game Calls and Mountain Cabin Outdoors will be presenting the following topics:

  • Pre-season Scouting: tips and techniques to locate turkeys
  • -Turkey Hunting Clothing & Equipment: what to wear and what to bring
  • -Bow, Shotgun, Crossbow Options: effective chokes, gauges, loads, scopes, broadheads, and making the shot
  • -Calling Techniques: the art and science of turkey communication, when and when not to call, what to say and when to say it
  • -Woodsmanship: reading the woods, proper setup
  • -Decoying: selection of decoys, proper setup
  • -Blinds: concealment options, advantages and disadvantages
